Clean recipes, Heart pumping Workouts, and Daily Motivation to becoming a Fit Fox!

So, I turned 30.

I turned 30 on March 8 and somehow forgot to tell you all about it.

Or maybe it was intentional.

For about a week, I was in denial. When you’re in your 20s, you feel like you will be there forever. Or at least I did.

My 30th birthday was shared with the people I hold most dear: my hubs, my sweet baby boy, and my mom and my dad.

We ate good food, drank great wine, and enjoyed being together! I especially loved these fancy things:

My new motto:

Bless my dear husband’s heart for getting this right:

Liam tried icing for the very first time………..and threw up (no pictures for you-you’re welcome). Yes, I know, I’m the mother of the year.

These 30 years have been very good to me and I know that the next 30 will be just as good, if not better. Two things have happened in the past 8 months that have made me really stop and think and have COMPLETELY changed my perspective on life:

1.) Becoming a mother

2.) Turning 30

I’ve been blessed these 30 years that I’ve been able to climb Machu Picchu in Peru, marry my best friend, do yoga in the Red Rocks of Sedona with my mom, bring a beautiful,  healthy boy into this world, and many, many wonderfully amazing things.

I’ve decided that turning 30 isn’t the end all. It’s not some mile marker that will define who I am or who I will be. It’s just a number.

It is just a number.

I have big plans and those plans include getting back into the best shape in my life, loving my family (those right under my roof and those many, many miles away) fiercely, and striving to be the woman that I was raised to be.

I did have a “30 meltdown moment” and went out and bought $60 eye cream.

I should’ve just had a glass of wine, went for a run, or eaten a cupcake. Do I hear any amens out there?

EMBRACE your age because that number doesn’t define you.

Who you are, what you say, and how you live defines you.

I don’t care if you’re 60 and wanting to learn to paint for the first time, go for it. I could hardly master paint by number.

I don’t care if you’re 15 and want to start lifting weights for the first time. Press play on “beast mode.”

I don’t care if you’re 30 and have no clue what you want to be when you grow up. I don’t but I know whatever it is, I’m going to be a damn good one.

PS-I hope that genetics plays a part in looking as good as my parents do in their 50s…………

  1. Do you know that being 30 is really a wonderful age? It is a huge step – A HUGE STEP – towards the wisdom & best of health you will ever make! When it is said you can start over NOW is the time. Embrace it. I am aiming towards 60 in about 8 months. I am embracing it because I see/feel it as another stepping stone. Congratulations! Enjoy!
